Metropolitan Housing Trust – Activ8 project
The Activ8 Project consists of three projects managed by Metropolitan Housing Trust being run for residents. These projects will take place at Chalkhill Community Centre.
The three projects are:
55 Alive Club - developing social activities for older people in an area where there are none. Initially activities will be funded to engage more members for the club, e.g. tea dances, tombola’s, art and craft classes and Tai Chi. The project aims to improve mobility and increase activity in those most likely to see their health deteriorate through inactivity and contribute towards the mental wellbeing of beneficiaries.
International Food Day - The project will be delivered on Metropolitan estates in London with residents from greatly diverse cultures and backgrounds. Residents will cook meals from their country of origin and bring them to the centre to share.
Wellbeing Café - The project uses kitchen facilities in the Chalkhill Community Centre to provide cooking classes targeted at young people, adults and delivers cross-cultural cooking classes for all ages.
